About Muddy Machines

Muddy Machines is an award winning AgTech start-up tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges: a growing population to feed, a changing climate and food shortages.

Our mission is to help farmers become resilient against labour shortages in a sustainable way. We are building a multi-purpose robotic platform we affectionately call Sprout which we provide to farmers as a service (Robotics as a Service).

Sprout’s first harvest tool is a Green Asparagus harvester given that crop’s high value per kilo and high reliance on farm labour - but we are just getting started! More harvest tools are in the pipeline.

Using AI and the latest in sensor technology, we are able to measure every spear of Asparagus and use advanced algorithms and reinforcement learning to predict crop yields over the coming days and report them to growers, consequently improving profits and optimising crop yield.

Joining our collaborative and supportive team means being a part of an effort that helps farmers, protects the environment, and contributes to the creation of more sustainable food production for us all.

About the role

We currently only have one full-time electronics engineer working across our robot and harvesting tools. We need another electronics engineer to join and work collaboratively to help design, manufacture and test all our different electronic systems for our equipment (PCBs, Power Electronics, Cable Harnesses)

This is a unique opportunity to use your experience to push the boundaries of robotics products in the agriculture industry and in doing so, become an integral part of Muddy Machines.

Bharath, one of our Mechanical Engineers had this to say about working at Muddy Machines: "In my 10 years of experience designing various things, the most exciting part of the job has always been problem-solving. In previous roles, it was a lot of fun, but looking back from a worldly perspective, it had a very small impact. But at Muddy Machines, the countless hours I have spent thinking/imagining actually helps the most underrated job of all - feeding people!"
