Job Title: Clinical Sonographer (Part-time)
Reports to: Senior Director, Clinical Education
Job Location: Santa Clara, CA - Onsite
This is a part-time position as 20-30 hours per week
Job Summary:
The Clinical Sonographer will work with customers, engineering, marketing, and sales. You are expected to be the eyes and ears of the customer during image and user interface optimization as well as leading the external clinical testing process. The role also requires a deep understanding of the ultrasound applications across a broad range of point of care specialties along with a network of users for feedback and guidance. In addition, the position requires a basic understanding of the requirements for point-of-care ultrasound workflow including reporting guidelines, credentialing, quality assurance and billing.
This position will interface with clinicians and technical professionals to develop innovative solutions in the point of care ultrasound space.
Job Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Provide customer insights to help guide the business strategy, product roadmap and product development.
- Create the clinical specifications required to meet and exceed the expectations of targeted users. (hardware and software based)
- Articulate the customer’s clinical workflow environment including pain points and areas where current solutions are insufficient.
- Side-by-side collaboration with the systems engineering team to optimize image performance and streamline the user experience.
- Collaborate with the cloud development team and provide clinical input on the requirements to optimize point-of-care ultrasound workflow for all specialties.
- Lead the planning of internal/external clinical evaluations during development.
- Participation and sales support at industry conferences.
- Market and product knowledge to assist the product marketer in developing a range of support tools and resources.
- Responsible for benchmarking the performance of competitive systems.
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in a healthcare related field.
- ARDMS (RDMS) registry required.
- 7+ years of experience scanning in a clinical or professional environment.
- Skilled in 2D, Doppler and color flow imaging.
- Basic understanding of point-of-care ultrasound workflow.
Additional Considerations:
- Advanced certification such as RVT, or RVS.
- Excellent oral & written communication skills & the ability to present to large groups.
- Self-motivated & curious about solving customer problems with innovative solutions.
- Willingness to travel domestic and international.
- Ability to multi-task effectively and manage multiple priorities at one time.
- Basic proficiency in computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Clinical imaging experience in large hospital/university setting preferred.
- Skilled in cardiac, abdominal, vascular, and musculoskeletal sonography.
- Experience working in a product development environment.
- Strong clinical skills with a keen eye for image resolution and quality.
- Experience working with a cloud-based point-of-care ultrasound workflow solution.
- Knowledge of interoperability with PACS and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
