We are looking for a Data Scientist to join the Team. This is an intensely hands-on role for a person with experience in data structures and applied machine learning. You are ideal for this position if you dream of using classical machine learning techniques to enhance quantum computations. You will also be building software pipelines and solutions for Entropica's software stack.
Quantum computing generates massive amounts of data, which must be stored, structured, and analysed. Then, your overriding responsibility is simple: help us make the most out of the data generated by quantum computers.
Your Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will span three domains and involve all of the following.
Apply machine learning methods to enhance the performances of QAOA-based algorithms;
Build reinforcement learning-based optimisers for Variational Quantum Algorithms (VQA);
Develop unsupervised techniques to classify VQAs computations.
Build robust data storing pipelines for quantum computations;
Build Entropica's database for data analysis;
Secure the storage of our data.
Standardise the output of quantum computations across different QPUs;
Develop a set of tools to make the prototyping of quantum computations easier.
Our Ideal Candidates: To help you assess if you would be a good fit for the position, our ideal candidate has technical experience with:
Fluent in Python and major ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Keras, Scikit-learn);
Willingness to contribute to open-source projects;
Experience with numerical/scientific coding (including packages such as NumPy and SciPy);
Experience with structured and unstructured databases;
We expect you to have at least two years of relevant experience in a similar role, backed by an ML portfolio and excellent communication and written English technical skills.
Super bonus skills:
Experience with reinforcement learning;
Experience in quantum computing.
How to apply & Hiring process 👩🏻🏫
We commit to reviewing your application within two weeks:
If we think you are a good fit, we will get back to you to organise a first brief call.
If the call is positive, we will ask you to solve a task related to the job's scope. The task is valuable for us but ideally for you too, so you can understand if this is your dream job!
1. The last step after the task will be presenting your work, ideas and vision for the dream. We call it 'The vision talk'. This discussion is the best way for you to meet everyone else and share your goals and expectations.
While we organise the call, we will also ask you for references of people who are familiar with your work and persona.
