We are looking for a software engineer to set up, maintain and scale secure computing infrastructure and best practices for our customers and the Team. You are the ideal candidate if you know how distributed computing works and are excited to shape and deploy Entropica Labs' software on quantum hardware. In fact, you will be the point of contact between Entropica Labs and quantum cloud and hardware providers in this position.
This role will require you to fully understand how to service quantum computing hardware and how Entropica labs' software stack interacts with it. Ideally, you will also be responsible for setting up modern computing infrastructure to improve and streamline our commercial products and internal workflows.
In one line, your role is to improve and shape our computing infrastructure as we transition from using tens to hundreds and then thousands of qubits.
In general, you will make us even better at computing.
Your Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will involve all of the following:
Be Entropica Lab's first point of contact for any question related to the accessibility of quantum hardware, and understand the manufacturer's technical roadmaps;
Study and research the best strategies to access quantum hardware;
Setting up (improving our existing) scalable and secure computing infrastructure for the Team;
Setting up secure computing infrastructure for customers;
Help maintain best practices for open-source projects;
Help support best practices for the whole Team;
Contributing to scientific publications, patents and whitepapers.
Our Ideal Candidates: To help you assess if you would be a good fit for the position, our ideal candidate has technical experience with:
Google Cloud / AWS services and administration (VPN, instances, database services etc.);
Docker (compose), Kubernetes;
Security for private and public servers:
Proxy: e.g. Nginx/Traefik;
AWS, GCP solutions;
Deployment of software in a production environment;
Large and unstructured databases;
We expect you to have at least three years of relevant experience in a similar role and excellent communication and written English technical skills.
Super bonus skills:
Working knowledge of quantum error correction schemes.
Working knowledge of (discrete, combinatorial) optimisation or other areas of applied mathematics.
Experience in using real quantum computers.
