DescriptionWe are looking for an Associate Scientist to join our Analytics team. This is a critical role that will enable the detection and characterisation of dairy proteins and small molecules from our precision fermentation process. The successful candidate will be able to apply a range of techniques, including GC-MS. We would love to meet candidates from a variety of backgrounds who have a passion for science and food.This role is based in our Hackney Wick office full time, though some remote working is possible.The successful candidate will be comfortable pitching in at every level and enjoys a high accountability/high autonomy environment.
Responsibilities
- Work closely and collaboratively with the Senior Scientist and Analytics team to provide innovative solutions to support projects across R&D, often working to tight deadlines in an agile environment
- Prepare accurate records of experimental protocols and results
- Run and maintain equipments, mainly GC-MS, but with option to expand to XRF
- Contribute to a high performance team culture
- BSc + 2 years (or MSc + 1 year) lab experience in Bioanalytics, Analytical Chemistry and any other relevant area
- Hand-on experience in gas chromatography
- Good communication and numeracy skills
- Hand-on experience in liquid chromatography
- Track record in analytics
- Desire to broaden their range of technical skills within Analytics
